Joni Fixel
Joni Fixel has 25 years experience in the Energy Industry. Later she opened her practice in East Lansing focusing in Employment, Employees Rights and Civil Litigation. Joni is a member of the National Employment Lawyers Association, Michigan Bar Association and the Grand Rapids Bar Association.
Joni is experienced in employment law, wrongful discharge, civil rights violations and discrimination, sexual harassment, FMLA and ADA claims. Joni also has experience in civil RICO and foreign adoption litigation.
Ms. Fixel holds a Certificate of Completion in the areas of probate and estate planning issued by the Institute of Continuing Legal Education and the Probate and Estate Planning Section of the State Bar of Michigan.
Ms. Fixel is sworn to practice in all Michigan Courts, U.S. District Court Eastern District of Michigan, 6th Circuit Court of Appeals, U.S. District Court Western District of Michigan and the United States Supreme Court.

Collin Nyeholt - Law Clerk
In addition to his duties as a law clerk at the firm, Collin also is a law student at Michigan State University College of Law where he plans to graduate in 2010. His honors include membership in the Phi Alpha Delta legal fraternity, acceptance into the Moot Court Seminar, and inclusion in the Academic Top Ten for his graduating class. His undergraduate work was primarily in business, with a brief stint in music before realizing that he wanted to eat. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Finance from the Eli Broad College of Business as well as an Associates in Music Performance from Lansing Community College. Before coming to law school, he worked as a Financial Analyst at Preview Properties.com , as a Bookkeeper at Nyeholt Steel Incorporated, and as an independent financial consultant. In addition to his position with the firm, he has worked as a Research Assistant with Professor Mae Kuykendall at MSU Law. Much, in fact nearly all, of Collin's work with Fixel Law is related to ongoing litigation. He has researched, written, and aided in the writing of winning briefs and other court filings on topics involving Civil Procedure, Civil RICO, Title VI, Title VII, ELCRA, First Amendment Retaliation, Equal Protection, and a host of other employment and civil rights related areas of the law.
